System Management
The admin dashboard gives you a bird's-eye view of the system and access to important management tools.
System status
Go to Admin (the main admin page) to see the health of each component:
| Component | What it does |
|---|---|
| Database | Stores all conversations, users, and settings |
| MinIO | Stores uploaded files |
| Ollama | Runs the AI models |
| Whisper | Converts speech to text for voice input |
Each component shows a green tick when healthy or a warning when there is an issue. If Ollama is down, you can try clicking Start Ollama to restart it.
Customising safety rules
Go to Admin > Safety to view and edit the content safety guidelines for each age group:
- Child rules — Guidelines for under 13s (always active for children)
- Teen rules — Guidelines for 13–16 year-olds (always active for teens)
- Adult rules — Guidelines applied when an adult enables Safe Mode
For each set of rules, you can:
- Edit the guidelines in the text area and click Save
- Revert to the previous version if you made a mistake
- Reset to defaults to restore the original rules
Changes only affect new conversations. Existing conversations keep whatever rules were in place when they started.
System reset
At the bottom of the admin dashboard is the Danger Zone. The system reset permanently deletes:
- All user accounts
- All conversations and messages
- All uploaded files
- All AI model settings
- All safety rule customisations
This returns LanJAM to its initial state, as if it was just installed. You will need to go through the first-time setup again.
To reset, you must type reset in the confirmation box. This action cannot be undone.
